ICE ICE BABY! (Jay Stovall)

What do you get when you mix a bunch of broom-like sticks, hot chocolate, a couple of balls, and donuts together???

An epic BROOMBALL EVENT!

Over here in UP (University Place), it was time for another huge event. That event consisted of some broom ball, which is a fun game played on an ice rink just like hockey but with broom-like sticks and balls instead of pucks.

-side note- The object of the game is basically to make a score into the other team's goal.

For me, there were way more people that came than I expected. It was cool because the event was off-campus so the students had to make an effort to actually come. As everyone kept piling in, there were donuts and hot chocolate that were offered for them to enjoy. There were so many boxes of donuts that one may have probably thought they were in a donut store. Then to add some hot chocolate to the night was a great mix because the atmosphere was filled with a cold breeze from the frozen ice.

The people were all split into two huge teams. It was funny to see people slipping and sliding everywhere on the ice. They were losing their balance and sticks as they tried to maneuver all over the ice. We had music playing in the background which allowed people to really enjoy their time doing the "moonwalk" across the ice. -tribute to Michael Jackson there-

It was an epic event that was a great way to get away from all studying and homework. I definitely enjoyed myself and look forward to many more times like this to come.

"Broomball was fun. winning wasn't the main focus; it was about really having fun and enjoying the company of friends." quote from student Sammy Ramos.
